Ship and Marine Services
Due to the specialist nature of this work our team is assembled from personnel familiar and experienced in this difficult environment. Operating under a dedicated section manager most of the team come from a marine background and indeed are holders of MCA boat-master certificates.
We currently undertake marine works for the Hutchinson Whampoa Company which includes locally the Port of Felixstowe, Harwich International Port and Thames Port facilities. At present we hold contracts with the Port of Felixstowe for repair and maintenance in a number of their operational areas. This is a self management and inspection contract against a strict budget and includes for example:
- Repair or renewal of dockside fendering.
- Quay edge timbers
- Maintenance of floating pontoons
- Maintenance of flood valves
- Maintenance of ship to shore racks
- Ship repairs - quayside and on voyage
In addition to the above, we also regularly carry out work in other areas of the port, these include:
- Erection, repair and maintenance of lighting towers.
- Installation, repair and maintenance of road barrier systems.
- Miscellaneous repairs of warehousing facilities.
Thanks to our considerable experience in this sector, our work regularly extends out to ship repair and modification. Given the high costs of ship charter, work is often planned, engineered and carried out at short notice to meet a tight sea time program.
